It is a steel truss railway bridge — sometimes known as the Charing Cross Bridge — flanked by two cable-stayed pedestrian bridges that share the railway bridge's foundation piers, and which are properly named the Golden Jubilee Bridges. Through its struts and girders, the circular form of The London Eye is visible.
Photographer, Gregg Sedgwick has made two studies of The London Eye from Hungerford Bridge. In both, the foreground structures dominate the scene. The contrasting geometric shapes force the viewer to notice The Eye and emphasize its form as distinct from the linearity of the bridge.
