Having studied traditional typographic systems early in his career, Sedgwick holds a fascination for letter forms. In this artwork, he combines a rugged letterpress style background with a formal ‘metallic silver’ overlay. The effect is simultaneously random and rigid – the formality of the silk screen silver contrasting sublimely with the scruffiness of the background montage.
