Jardin de Fees

AED 480AED 1,000

The title translates from French to ?Garden of Fairies?, which is the exact vision I had for this piece – A fantasy ?oral garden with dreamy roses and peonies as the main focal subjects of the artwork, engulfed in magical little abstract ?oral details. The Gold Leaf plays the perfect part in achieving my vision even more so. The inspiration for this piece came from a reference of a ?oral garden just at the brink of Spring.
This piece is especially magical for me, as it?s one of the ?rst pieces where I shared the journey of creating art with my daughter Lyla, who has just turned 3. She has in recent months shown so much interest in watching me work, and seemed eager to participate – so for the ?rst time, I allowed her to make a few marks in small sections on the canvas before I painted the main ?owers. Sharing this part of my art practice with her has been a beautiful experience, and now this piece holds a very special place in my heart. You will not only be bringing my art into your home, but you will also be bringing with it a piece of the artist?s daughter.

Frost

I envisioned a very abstract scene of winter colors for this piece with highlighted winter hues of pinks, lavender and blues. The inspiration behind this one as a reference photo of a ?ower garden in winter covered in fresh falling snow, and it helped me craft
the color palette for this painting.
I?m fascinated and in love with the winter season, and it sparks a lot of my best work. The colors in winter are very muted tones but I love to play around with them and create pieces like this that can still be a vivid statement piece in colors that are not as striking. To ?nish it off, I laid down tiny details of little ?owers within the painting, which are my signature in every piece.

Whisper

Unlike all my other paintings, this one stands out in its dark theme and serene colors. That is because this is a piece I created when I was going through a very dif?cult time in my life. In early 2023, I was going through personal struggles, trying to ?nd myself through the chaos of the world we live in. With that, I decided to put whatever I was feeling down onto a canvas. I had no reference images, no pre-de?ned color palette, but I knew I had a vision to paint what I felt. I started with a background and base colors that represented the current state of how I felt. Surrounding that, I placed some brighter ?owers at the very center of the piece – including a small white lily, to portray a light of hope through all the darkness. The piece spoke to my collectors, and I sold the original artwork almost immediately after I had completed it! Till date, it is one of my most loved pieces in my portfolio and on my Instagram.
I want the viewer to resonate with it the way it has for me. In dif?cult times, I want it to bring a ray of hope and light into your life, seeing it hanging up on your wall everyday and give the viewer the hope it emanates.

Nassim Nasr’s style is a blend of vibrant color palettes, emotional expression, and restrained simplicity.
Throughout Nasr’s artistic journey, they have always been drawn to the intersections where styles merge, revealing new dimensions of expression. This exploration led Nasr to forge a style termed “Expressive Color Minimalism,” a synthesis of Abstract Expressionism, Color Field, and Minimalism. It’s Nasr’s unique response to the age-old quest of conveying depth with simplicity.
For Nasr, Expressive Color Minimalism is a process of distillation. They channel the emotional potency of Abstract Expressionism, allowing each brush stroke, form, and composition to resonate with unspoken narratives. Color in Nasr’s work is more than a visual element; it’s a narrative unto itself, imbued with emotion and depth, echoing the sentiments of Color Field painting. Yet, despite their inspiration from the vibrancy of color and emotion, Nasr is equally committed to the principles of Minimalism. Every element on their canvas has intention; there’s a conscious restraint, ensuring that each hue and stroke serves a deliberate purpose.
In their work, Nasr aims to create a balance between vibrancy and void, between the effusiveness of color and the calm of empty space. It’s a dialogue, a dance, a journey that invites viewers to explore their own emotional landscapes while appreciating the nuanced simplicity Nassim Nasr strives to present. To Nasr, Expressive Color Minimalism is more than just a style?it’s a reflection of their philosophy and vision, a fresh lens through which they interpret the world around them. And with every piece, Nasr hopes to share a part of this vision, offering new perspectives and evoking deep, often unspoken, emotions.
