In his travels through Arabia, James Dominé recorded a multitude of textures & surfaces. James refers to his visual observations as ‘definition of how I see Arabia – a tapestr y of the graphics and iconography which fill my field of vision’. As a result, colourful and intricate montages are combined to portrayal Arabesque elements. Everyday symbols and visual aesthetics are recorded by James and translated into intricate artworks. Geometric pattern, textiles, religious text and architectural detail are blended to convey the rich visual vernacular which, for Dominé defines the region.
