The Watchman is a story of the guardian, the carer; the one who doesn’t sleep until the city is safe & sound. It is the interpretation of the artist’s inner feeling of being looked after in a foreign land. The view is seen to be distorted and abstracted to reflect the social and racial justice of the city. The watchman is holding a rosary with “Fatimah’s Hand” to highlight the strong spiritual and cultural essence of the city.
